This is a very quick salad that takes very little preparation time. The goats cheese should take around 10 minutes to cook and the salad should take around a minute to prepare

Salade de Chèvre Chaud – Goat’s cheese Salad


  • Half a roll of goat's cheese (sliced into around 1cm thick slices)
  • 3 tablespoons Extra virgin olive oil
  • 3 tablespoons Balsamic vinegar
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Salad
  • 1 tablespoon Chopped fresh basil
  • Olives (8 to 10 per person)
  • Walnuts (4 or 5 person)
  • Herbs de Provence (a couple of pinches)
  • Pain de campagne (or alternatively try your favourite bread)


Step 1
Slice the bread and put the goats cheese slices on top then put in the oven at 210 degrees centigrade for around 10 minutes or until the bread browns and the cheese begins to melt
Step 2
When the goat's cheese is nearly ready; in a medium bowl, add the olive oil and vinegar then whisk rapidly with a fork
Step 3
Add the salt and pepper and whisk again
Step 4
Add the salad and the chopped basil then roll the leaves round to coat them with the vinegarette
Step 5
Put the salad on a plate to one side, add the olives and walnuts on top
Step 6
Place the warm goat's cheeses on bread next to the salad and give them a light sprinkling of the herbs
